38 Common Female Names that You May Not Realize Are Also Playable Words in Scrabble

The words "grace" and "dawn" are regular words that also happen to be common female first names.  Such words are of course allowed in word games like Scrabble even though they correspond to proper names.  But did you know that "jane" and "beth" are also playable words in Scrabble?

Below is a list of 38 female first names that are common in the United States and are also legal Scrabble words under OWL2.  However, all obviously-playable words have been eliminated from the list.  What remains are words that are either uncommon or are slang or technical terms that one might otherwise suspect were not playable.

The advantage of a list like this is that the words and their spellings do not need to be memorized.  The only thing to remember is whether a particular common name is in the list or not.  The words highlighted in red are either played fairly often or are 7+ letters long and thus represent potential bingos.
