Common Female Names That Are Also Legal Scrabble Words

Normally, proper names are not allowed in word games like Scrabble because essentially any letter combination could represent a name.  But it turns out that many common names and nicknames, like "joy" and "daisy," are also playable Scrabble words.

The list below contains female first names that are common in the United States and are also legal Scrabble words under OWL2.  The list only contains the 50 most-often played such words, ordered from most played to least played; many other common names are also playable in Scrabble.

The two-letter female name "jo" has been left off the list because you should already know all the legal two-letter words.  If it had been included, it would have been at the top of the list far ahead of the other names in terms of how often it gets played.

The words highlighted in red are either played fairly often or are 7+ letters long and thus represent potential bingos.
